Pastoral Care Team

As a faith community, we at Aurora United Church believe that each person is a child of God.  Our visiting is an attempt to convey God’s love.  The Pastoral Care Visitation Ministry provides support to those in nursing homes, retirement homes and within the community by lending an empathetic ear, offering friendship and acting as a link with Aurora United Church, while adhering to the principles of the Ontario Privacy Act.

Its responsibilities are to:

• Provide outreach visitation ministry to individuals and families of Aurora United Church; this will include visiting with the hospitalized, elderly, shut-ins, nursing home residents, terminally ill and those who have experienced loss through death; such visitation will be carried out in consultation with the ministers
   
• Develop social events to assist with the pastoral ministry
   
• Co-ordinate drivers for those requiring rides for Sunday morning worship, pastoral social events and for other pastoral purposes

 The need for more people to join this team is growing.  If anyone in the congregation is able to spare a few hours a month to support this ministry, please contact Jackie Catto at 905-939-2233.
