Imagine the wealth of activity

Our Christian presence is felt every day of the week through the wealth of activity that takes place at Aurora United.  The wonderful staff and welcoming building provides a gathering place for so many groups and individuals.  Imagine for a moment just some of the activities of the over 7000 people who visit our church every month.

• Sunday worship, special holiday worship, weddings, funerals

• Vibrant junior and senior choir members bursting the seams of the choir loft

• More than one hundred children in Sunday School, all taught by volunteer teachers

• 25 members of our Confirmation Class and a popular Teen Group

• A dedicated Mission and Service (M&S) Fund

• An active group of United Church Women (UCW)

• Fall Events, Rummage Sales, Progressive Dinners, Pot lucks dinners

• A community outreach Turkey Dinner on Christmas Day

•  YMCA, Scouts, Brownies, Reiki, AA…

• Bible studies, Labyrinth, Bereavement group, Children of divorce/separation group

• Over 80 Elders and committee members volunteering thousands of hours of planning and participating in church programs, hospital visits, writing letters to       shut-ins, Food banks, overseas mission and service assistance

How is the framework for all of this activity paid for?

The fundamental framework, a staff, a building, an M&S Fund is paid for by the generous contributions of church members like you.  Our budget has been cautiously watched over the years and cost cutting has been offset by the cost increases associated with an active and growing church community and inflationary energy costs.
