Children’s Sunday Morning Program

AURORA CHILDREN'S SUNDAY MORNING SCHOOL NEWS...
2011 Edition

Please remember...

Children's Sunday Morning School begins on September 11

The Nursery and ages 3-4 class continue to have their own program. The program for the other children is The Workshop Rotation Model. This program frees workshop leaders to teach from their own strengths and be creative in many directions - music, cooking, drama, art, AV, games, science, storytelling. How cool is that? The children really learn the bible story or theme because they experience it with so many senses and get such a better feel for the story.

September 25 is Recovenanting Sunday!
We will begin in church at 10:30 am and after the Recovenanting (Blessing) part of the service we will begin our theme –“Sharable Parables”

We hope to see you at Aurora Sunday Morning Children’s Program!

We hope to have a lot of fun this year discovering God’s love for each and every one of us through bible stories and themes.

News Update from our Sunday Morning Children's Program!

We are well into rehearsals for our Pageant Sunday. The pageant is called "A Baby Shower For Jesus." The children and youth are looking forward to participating and leading in this service of worship. Here is what is happening over the next few Sundays during our Children's Program:

November 20
Rehearsal for pageant - speaking parts and for the other children - participation in the filming for the King James YouTube submission of Luke 2. Bob Kyriakides will be with us to video the children in their pageant costumes - animals, shepherds, angels, Mary and Joseph. This video will be edited along with the readers for our presentation of the Christmas Story to the Kind James Trust in London. If there is time after taping the children will participate in a christmas craft.

November 27
Rehearsal for pageant and christmas craft.

December 4
We present "A Baby Shower for Jesus" at both services. Please watch for details about arrival time in the morning. We also looking for parents to provide a snack for the children in between the services. If you are able to provide a snack for this day please call or email Rev. Andy

The congregational Christmas Party will follow the 10:30 am service on December 4 - including a pinata for the children. Please watch the announcement sheet and the weekly AUC alive for details.

November 6 – Christmas Pageant rehearsals begin.

“O Little Town of Bethlehem…” Yes – we are starting to think about Christmas and the Children’s Pageant here at AUC. If you have any children’s costumes that you are looking to recycle then we have a place for them at AUC. We are especially looking for donkey and sheep costumes or others that may be altered. This year Michelle Forster will once again be taking leadership for the Pageant. Thank You Michelle! Michelle is also looking for two people who would like to assist her. Rehearsals begin on Sunday November 6 during worship and the pageant will be presented on Sunday December 4 at both services. If you would be interested in helping Michelle with the pageant or would like more information you may call Michelle at 905-726-1828 or Rev. Andy. Thank you!

“What’s In A Name????…”  Yes – we are having a contest to rename and create a logo for our Sunday Morning Children’s Program. Our Sunday Morning Children’s Program is a fun, learning experience for everyone who comes. We learn about bible stories and share conversation about our faith through workshops such as Food (Kitchen), Music, Video, Drama, Crafts and Games. We need a name and logo that will reflect this learning experience at AUC. Anyone – young or old – child or adult - may submit a name or logo or both. All submissions need to be received by Thanksgiving Sunday – October 9! Please email your logo/name to Rev. Andy at andy@auroraunitedchurch.ca or you may drop it off at the office. We look forward to receiving your submissions and yes – there will be prizes!
