Dear friends,

I am reaching out to ask you to extend my thanks to Aurora United Church for helping change lives through Mission & Service. The past 2020 year was a difficult one for everyone, but especially for those who were vulnerable before the pandemic struck. Thanks to your congregation’s support, our Mission & Service partners were there to help those who need it most.

I especially want to thank you for increasing your support of Mission & Service in 2020. Your commitment is exceptional! Thank you for recognizing how vital Mission & Service is. There are many stories about how your gifts change lives is a testament to your generosity. We couldn’t do what we do as a church without you.

Normally at this time of year, we mail you a certificate to share with your community of faith. Unfortunately, many church buildings and offices across the country remain closed, so we want to let you know that we are waiting to send the certificates until the fall, when we are hopeful the printed copies can be highlighted during services, displayed on walls, and so on.

That said, we do want your congregation to know how grateful we are and share with you the amazing extent of our church’s generosity in an extraordinarily difficult year. My team has created this generosity support video (on this page) to let you know how much our United Church collectively raised for those in need through Mission & Service and to thank you for your ongoing support. A full accountability report will be mailed to you along with your certificate.

We have had to make a lot of changes to Mission & Service communications in the last year to cope with the pandemic, pivoting many of the ways we typically reach out to you. Thank you for being so understanding and flexible, and for capably ensuring that our communications reach those in your congregation who need to see them.

I am deeply grateful for your faithful service to your church and to all those we help through Mission & Service.

Yours in Christ’s service,
