June is Seniors’ Month in Ontario

Aurora United Church and the Pastoral Care Committee celebrate the many gifts seniors bring to this faith community.  In this time of pandemic, when we are not able to meet in person, our senior members continue to serve and make a difference through phone calls, cards, driveway visits, delivering flowers, knitting prayer shawls, volunteering with Rise & Shine Breakfast, and Welcoming Arms.

Through Zoom they are able to participate on AUC Council, committees, UCW, Virtual Coffee Time, Book Club, and Woman Spirit, to name a few. Seniors offer their gifts of music, take an active role in the online worship services, contribute and help out in many more ways. Our seniors offer their experience and wisdom to every aspect of the ministry of Aurora United Church.

Seniors are also very important in the lives of their families - modeling values for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all who they encounter.

We are grateful for the collected talent, wisdom, kindness, generosity and commitment of our seniors.

Take time this month to celebrate with the seniors in your life!
