The Women's Support Network (WSN) of York Region has recently launched a new initiative for survivors and those at risk of sexual violence and human trafficking.

WSN is a sexual violence and rape crisis service centre situated in York Region dedicated to providing free, confidential, and non-judgmental services to survivors and those at risk of sexual violence and/or human trafficking for the purposes of sexual exploitation who identify as a woman, femme, 2Spirit, or gender non-conforming.

Femme-identifying, non-binary, cis- and trans-women are welcomed and encouraged to access our virtual drop in support offered every Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM EST.

Drop in support involves accessible, supportive, feminist, client-centered, and client-focused 45-minute counselling sessions for individuals in need of support. Sessions are at no cost to the client and client's will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis.

With no appointments necessary, these sessions endeavour to provide support and referrals.

To gain access to this resource, please email Daisy Pyman, dpyman@womenssupportnetwork.ca and let Daisy know which Tuesday you are interested in attending. Upon reaching out, you will receive a zoom link which will allow you admittance to the virtual drop in space. Upon entering the virtual space, clients will complete a brief intake with Daisy's colleague, Claudia and be seen by the counsellor within the stated time slots.

Please note: These sessions are for people who are not currently receiving ongoing support.  As well, because this is a drop in space, individuals cannot access the service consecutive weeks.  Furthermore, though we try to see every client in a timely manner, there may be wait times and we cannot guarantee that every individual will be seen.
