Thursday April 11 marks the 10th anniversary of our church fire. We have come a long way with our planned re-build as we can clearly see now with the Amica building fully formed and the steel structure of our church quickly taking shape.

We invite you to read the written responses, created on the 1st anniversary, April 11, 2015, when we asked the question, “What is your dream for our new church?

In this time of remembering, we also look forward to our dreams being realized in the near future and pray for that day when we can link arms and walk together to the new building! God goes before us in this time.

I am planning to be around when the new church building stands – our house of God.

We will rebuild and be stronger together, both in faith and community.

Hope, peace.

We pray that when you return home, Trinity Anglican and AUC will continue to journey together.

May we continue to reach out to others in need as they have reached out to us. May God continue to smile upon your community.

My prayers are that we continue united together as a church concerned about and servicing our community. God be with us.

Looking to the future with memories in our hearts.

Love. XO.

We sprinkled seed today along the path, walked with our children during baptism and my sister’s canoe during her funeral service. May many more memories follow in this place of faith, family, and friendship.

May we thrive in our new facility, united to serve our community as we have been served.

Support in community, togetherness, warmth, hope, and faith.

The future is bright.

In the darkest time may the spirit of God carry you to your new church.

I hope for the choir to continue its glorious sound.

New rebirth, vibrant life, phoenix reborn from the ashes.

It is my hope that AUC may be a rich blessing to the community of Aurora.

May we move forward in cooperation and with Christ’s love to build our new church home. I hope to continue to be here to enter our new home!

Togetherness with faith.

Can't wait to see what grows on our church site!

I hope for beautiful music played by beautiful instruments, by talented musicians and singers in a vibrant space.

That God’s work and ministry as shown through Jesus Christ continues strong and committed.

Our church is not a building. We are the church! Blessings to all!

Thanks, and God bless the people that help us in such a difficult and trying time. God help us to build our church.

I pray that our new church will be a place of love, hope, and above all community for everyone.

I hope the church will be as welcoming as it was before.

To find a new path for an eterna; message in a new building that will serve the community as a whole.

God is love. God is ever present.

Many blessings to new beginnings.

I hope they rebuild soon. Looking forward to a bright future.

Hope for future. Togetherness in our new home!

The Lord be with us all!

The past is past period we embrace the future together. Together we have all that we need!

I pray that the new church will embody the same love and care for the church community for years to come.

My hope for AUC is that you continue to thrive. Blessings!

Our best wishes and prayers for a beautiful new church for families to build new memories in.

I hope the doors of AUC will open again providing a sanctuary for all who enter.

A welcoming home for our church family and our community.

Time of reflections on sacred ground with God's love and trust in the future.

Blessing for a new church and growing congregation.

It is an interesting journey and I hope to give support to Lorraine and Andy as they give to us.

Great new building and lots of new people to join us to go forward!

My hope for the church is that it will help people to reach out and make the world a better place.

Loving home for all.

The thread of history continues at Yonge and Tyler. Nearly 200 years. Holy ground.

I dream of a long eventful full life at AUC.

Always embrace faith!!!

May your new home be filled with joy and hope! God Bless!

This is a very happy day!

I pray that we create a new church building that reflects the history of the old one as well as sowing the seeds for today and tomorrow.

I hope that we will continue to be the new hands and feet of Christ. God Bless!

May the congregation continue in its warmth and outreach.

May you treasure the past and traditions, but live for your dream of the future. Blessings on your journey.

A day of reflection and love for our loving, caring, congregation.

Love and togetherness for our new church.

God to bless us. God to protect us. God to give us peace.

Looking forward to having a new church home again.

I hope that we have a massive party to thank our community for their blessings and kindness.

Compassion!

Moving forward in faith. God bless us all!

“April is the cruelest month.” wrote Walt Whitman. One year ago, Aurora United Church lost its church building yet gained much in love and hope.

May our new facility be an inspiring and vital place for our church community as well as our community large. Thanks for all the hard work and vision!

Grateful and glad we have leaders who are determined to take the time to do a fine job planning a community, appropriate, new building.

Together we stay strong.

Thank you, Trinity Anglican, for welcoming us to your church and I look forward to the future.

A place of joy for all ages.

I pray that you will continue to be a faithful and vital congregation.

Community of Aurora and congregation of Aurora United Church as we journey to our new church.

Beautiful new building. Well Done! Here’s to another 200 years.

Blessings for our youth.

I remember apples.

Smiles.

I love everybody in my church.

This church is the best!

I would like to see lots of happy people!

I want my church to love and care.

Rite Of Passage

Smoke…more smoke
then even more
this time rising
from the chimney
where no smoke now
should ever be.

Fire!  And in a blink
the hungry flames
would lick
                     would sweep
                                                 would roar
with raging purpose
to bring this storied structure
to its knees…
with stark black rafters
open to the so-blue skies
reaching, rising to April skies
alive with birdsong
while crocuses were blooming
and breezes whispered hope.

Cruel death amidst new life:
a passage fraught with fire
a purifying desire
to start anew.
