Advent 4 Bulletin

Advent, a four-week time of preparation before Christmas, begins the church year.  The fourth Sunday in Advent often has a focus on Love.

Prayer:

Now Mary Walked That Dusty Road: A prayer/song that can be sung to the tune of "Une Jeune Pucelle" (or "'Twas in the Moon of Wintertime"), by Moderator Richard Bott.

Minute for Mission: Community is Key to Mental Health on Campus

Accumulating debt. Rising tuition. Pressure to succeed academically. Uncertainty about the labour market after graduation…. Students can be under a lot of stress. Your generosity through Mission & Service supports student mental health through critical campus ministries.

Painting Advent

This is a mini-movie we created for the fourth week of advent – Love.

Were stubborn and selfish our hearts gone astray
Were plagued by the shadow within
Can beauty be found in the mire and the clay?
Would you come, would you come, once again

Come O Come Emmanuel

In the dark of our shame, in the shadows of sin
Can you see through this mess to the beauty within?

Arts & Faith

Prepare for Christmas and deepen your experience of the Advent season this year with Arts & Faith: Advent. Each week we’ll provide a video commentary about a work of art inspired by the Sunday Scriptures. Use these videos to take a new look at this season of hope and preparation through the lens of sacred art.

Advent 4

An Advent Mix-tape made with love:

This playlist is meant to be enjoyed slowly throughout the season. The mix-tape starts with a reminder of our longing for something more. Join the listening party on Facebook throughout Advent for reflections, Bible verses, and discussion questions on these songs. Don’t forget to share some of your mixtapes with us (remembering sharing means caring).
