June is Pride Month. The United Church celebrates Pride in the month of June. We encourage you to mark this time and celebrate the lives and ministry of LGBTQIA+ and Two Spirit people in all their diversity.
Indigenous Day of Prayer, the Sunday before National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21), is an opportunity to celebrate First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples’ values, customs, languages, and culture.
We welcome Rev. Evelyn McLachlan to the pulpit of Aurora United Church this morning. Rev. Evelyn was born and raised in Timmins, the youngest of six. She has her Hons. BA in Drama and English from the University of Windsor; toured with Covenant Players for 15 years in the US; worked as an office administrator at the head office of K-Mart; graduated from Queens Theological Seminary in 1987. She has ministered with the Eastern Guysborough Pastoral Charge in NS, the Dunwich PC in SW Ontario, Parker Street UC in Sarnia, Eden UC in Mississauga; King City UC in King City from where she retired at the end of 2017. She has been doing pulpit supply periodically when not having knee surgeries, scrapbooking, reading, quilting, visiting her grandchildren in Germany, watching Murdoch Mysteries, playing hand bells, baking/cooking, going for walks, playing scrabble with her husband Earle Laycock (they were married in 2010) and spending way too much time on Facebook. Rev. Evelyn is looking forward to leading worship with Rev. Andy and AUC!

In his Pentecost video message, his last message as Moderator, the Right Rev. Dr. Richard Bott reminds us that The United Church of Canada is part of the 2000-year community of Christ’s disciples―a worldwide communion that is not bound by geography, space, or time. We are people who change the world—with deep spirituality, with bold discipleship, with daring justice.
